HOT/COLD STAGES - Instec’s microscope thermal stages are designed specifically with liquid crystal applications in mind. Our heating and cooling stages offer many features which are unique in the market place, such as dual heating with variable sample chamber height, large viewing aperture, and easy electrical access to the sample.
HOT/COLD CHUCKS - Standard sizes of Instec thermal chucks range from 20mm to 300mm (custom sizes are available up to 600mm). Temperature ranges for standard models are available from -190ºC to 600ºC, with higher temperature limits available for custom hot chucks. Instec hot and cold chucks provide ultra temperature uniformity and stability (better than ±0.1ºC). An optional triaxial heater is available for eliminating electrical noise. The hot chuck surface is available as a grounded or floating surface.
HOT/COLD PLATES - Standard sizes of Instec thermal plates range from 20mm to 300mm (custom sizes are available upon request). Temperature ranges for standard models are from -190ºC to 600ºC, with higher temperature limits available. Instec hot and cold plates provide ultra temperature uniformity and stability. Instec also offers gas tight covers for defrosting or gas purging.

LIQUID CRYSTAL/LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY MEASUREMENT INSTRUMENTS
ALCT - the Automatic Liquid Crystal Tester has up to two independent channel, high voltage, arbitrary waveform function generators (±100V and 1MHz) and up to four real-time digital scope channels. The ALCT can perform automatic measurement of various liquid crystal parameters. VHR - the Voltage Holding Ratio Measurement System, RDC - the Residual DC Measurement System and Photo Detector are available too. Custom configurations for special measurements are also available.

LIQUID CRYSTAL CELLS - Instec empty cells are manufactured in clean rooms. The adhesive can withstand temperatures up to 200°C. All cells have a patterned ITO area, 5mm X 5mm, with ITO resistance = 100ohms per sq. Alignment layers are of 1° to 3° pre-tilted angles. Physical dimensions and spacing of cells vary depending on the models. Cell gap tolerance is ±0.2 µm.

MICROSCOPE DIGITAL CAMERAS - Instec's C-mount microscope digital cameras feature temperature stamping on the captured image. Resolutions range from 2 to 12 Mega pixels.
MICROSCOPE ACCESSORIES - Instec’s long working distance polarizing condensers, LWDC series, feature 20mm working distance; detachable and rotatable polarizer; universal dovetail fitting compatible with most major upright optical microscopes; adjustable condenser aperture Iris. The LWDC series is ideal for thermal microscopy applications.
