Without viewing hole and vacuum grooves built in the sample area of the hot and cold plate, a hot and cold plate offers better temperature uniformity, compared with a hot and cold stage and a hot and cold chuck.

Standard sizes of Instec hot and cold plates range from 20mm to 300mm (custom sizes are available upon request). Temperature ranges for standard models are from -190ºC to 600ºC, with higher temperature limits available for custom thermal platforms. Instec thermal plates provide ultra temperature uniformity and stability. Instec also offers gas tight covers for defrosting or gas purging.

Instec's basic thermal plate systems consist of a thermal platform, a STC200 Series standalone temperature controller, and WinTemp - a Windows based software.
